Senior Resuscitation Award Course

Aim: To provide further practical experience in the lifesaving techniques of CPR and related emergency care.

Pre-requisites: Trainee must attain Resuscitation Award.

Approximate course duration: 6 to 8 hours.

Senior Resuscitation Course Scope of Training:

  • Understanding of basic anatomy and physiology, resuscitation principles and techniques, emergency care for casualties suffering from shock, obstructed airway, external bleeding, hypothermia, asphyxia and heart attacks, management of spinal injuries.
  • Demonstrate Barrier Resuscitation on an approved manikin.
  • Demonstrate CPR on an adult/child manikin with one and two rescuer scenario.
  • Clear Airway Obstruction of a conscious casualty, a conscious casualty who slip into unconsciousness and an unconscious (non-breathing) casualty.
  • Demonstrate initiative in dealing with a simulated live casualty.
