AQUAPAK Awards Singapore (Learn to Swim)

Learn to Swim AQUAPAK Awards is a learn to swim program from Royal Life Saving Society. The program comprises of a series of awards through a comprehensive training of swimming, survival & lifesaving skills for swimmer and non-swimmer alike. Achievement of this certification qualify the trainee to become a Junior Lifeguard.

The AQUAPAK Award consists of two parts – AQUAPAK 1 and  AQUAPAK 2 Award.

 

AQUAPAK 1 Award certification comprises of:
1. Water Safety
Aim: To introduce water safety knowledge and skills

2. Water Discovery (Water Skills 1)
Aim: To familarize the beginner with water by the introduction of confidence, safety and conditioning exercises.

3. Water Awareness (Water Skills 2)
Aim: To increase awareness of the water by means of activities which develop water confidence, water safety, swimming and survival abilities.

4. Water Sense (Water Skills 3)
Aim: To further develop the trainee’s water sense by means of water safety, survival and swimming activities.

5. Water Wise (Water Skills 4)
Aim: To reinforce the trainee’s understanding of water safety and to extend personal swimming and survival abilities.

6. Basic Resuscitation
Aim: To provide practical experience in the lifesaving technique of expired air resuscitation (EAR) as preparation for formal life saving training and higher resuscitation tests.

After passing Water Safety, Water Skills 1,2, 3, 4  and Basic Resuscitation test, trainee will be awarded AQUAPAK 1 Award Certificate shown below.

AQUAPAK 2 Award certification comprises of:
1. Skills Developer (Water Skills 5)
Aim: To develop the trainee’s knowledge of water safety and ability in personal water skills.

2. Skills Improver (Water Skills 6)
Aim: To improve the trainee’s knowledge of water safety and proficiency in water skills.

3. Skills Performer (Water Skills 7)
Aim: To further enhance the trainee’s knowledge ofwater safety and range of water skills and endurance abilities.

4. Skills Achiever (Water Skills 8)
Aim: To establish a high level of achievement in all round water skills to serve as a foundation for lifesaving awards.

After passing Water Skills 5, 6, 7 and 8 test, trainee will be awarded AQUAPAK 2 Award Certificate shown below.
