Lifesaving Instructor Award Course
Aim: To develop a level of lifesaving knowledge and teaching ability which is suitable for instruction of classes and assessment of general lifesaving techniques for Lifesaving1,2,3 and Aquapak Awards.
Pre-requisites: Trainee must attain Bronze Medallion or higher Award and Resuscitation (CPR) Award.
Lifesaving Instructor Award Course Scope of Training:
- Clear understanding of teaching of drowning prevention, water rescue principles and class and hygiene.
- Conduct a 15 minutes lecture covering drowning prevention or basic rescue selected from the Water Smart Program manual.
- Demonstrate practical teaching to a class of 6 trainees in a water test item from the Lifesaving 3 award syllabus lasting 15 minutes.
This course is currently conducted only by Singapore Life Saving Society (SLSS).
