Silver Cross Award Course
Aim: To develop advanced lifesaving and emergency care abilities for qualified lifesavers in open water conditions.
Pre-requisites: Trainee must attain Bronze Cross Award.
Approximate course duration: 12 to 16 hours.
Silver Cross Course Scope of Training:
- Demonstrate emergency care for life-threatening injuries such as head injury, spinal injury, heart attack, stroke and asthma.
- Perform Fins and Snorkel/Goggle Rescue, Board Rescue and Double-Seater Kayak Rescue.
- Rescue Tube Endurance Swim of 600 meters in front crawl, breast-stroke and side-stroke within 17 minutes.
