Lifesaving Teacher Award Course
Aim: To develop a higher level of competence in the teaching and organization of lifesaving programs at school or club level and be able to self-assess the Aquapak and Lifesaving 1, 2 & 3 awards.
Pre-requisites: Trainee must attain Award of Merit or Distinction Award and Senior Resuscitation Award.
Lifesaving Teacher Award Course Scope of Training
- Clear understanding of teaching of resuscitation, use of initiative tests and simulated incidents, use of teaching or training aids in teaching lifesaving and SLSS’s organization of lifesaving examinations.
- Conduct a 20 minutes Resuscitation Teaching to a class of 6 trainees in a water test item from the Bronze Medallion syllabus.
- Conduct a 20 minutes practical lesson to class of 6 in a water test item from the Bronze Medallion syllabus.
The course is conducted exclusively at SLSS.
