Testimonials

Over the years, Lifeguard Singapore has successfully trained a pool of satisfied certified lifeguards.  Let’s dive in to see their testimonials of our training programmes.

Individual’s fitness level is essential as previously the entry pre-requisite was gold cert.  I particularly like the practical rescue-drills such as assessing the degree of safety, towing the victim and aftercare of how to treat the victim.  I have a interest in lifesaving and derive much fun in learning the skill.

I had started off with Mr Lee after a decade long hiatus from my lifesaving 123 training, and within the first few lessons, I’ve realised the physical restraints after being out of practice for such a long time. However, Mr Lee was patient in making sure that I corrected my basics and achieve passing timings. I felt that Mr Lee career success comes from his tireless dedication and out of the box scenarios that kept the class thinking; challenging his students to fully utilise each and every tools and knowledge that we had gain from the training. He is also willing to answer and discuss any problems that we might encounter. In short, Mr Lee’s dedication and subject knowledge kept me going and stayed under his tutelage.

I have learnt a lot and gained lots of experience during this episode as I have learnt to assess different skills at different circumstances. During the exam, we’ve encountered a real scenario of a man having a bad cramp in the pool. At first, my exam mates and I panicked and we did not know what to do. Mr Patrick then calmed the victim and the life guards too over the situation. Afterwards he debriefed us, and we have learnt the most important thing of the lesson. Its to remain calm and assess the situation. To all inspired life savers out there, remain calm always and. Do what you think is right. All the best in your journey.

Thank you for coaching us Lifesaving. Its really a pleasure and honoured to learn from you. During the months of Saturdays’ training with you, I  understand more about lifesaving despite having already learnt it in my 10 years career in the Army. The experience you shared with us are really relevant and applicable in a real life threatening situation.  Lastly, I am looking forward to learning Award of Merit from you believing that you can further enrich me with more lifesaving skills.

When I first join Uncle Patrick it was just for normal swimming lessons. However he later introduced me to Lifesaving.  At first, I thought lifesaving was just simply pulling people out of the water and doesn’t have much interest in it. But when I started lifesaving training, I realized there are many considerations (theory, skills) that one need to know in order to save others. And that increased my interest towards lifesaving and even completed my Distinction Award in lifesaving and is now undergoing my Lifesaving Instructor course.  In the past, I used to be a slow swimmer but under Uncle Patrick’s non-stop stamina training, my swim-speed is very much faster now.

I thought the Bronze Medallion examination was alright. When my instructor first told me about the exam, I was expecting a lot of stamina training. It was quite tiring at first but throughout the course, everything got easier as I got used to the examination routine. I thought it was quite fundamental. I think if a person can swim about 8 laps freestyle without any major difficulties, this Bronze Medallion examination won’t pose much of a problem.  I did not expect myself to pass the examination within about 4 months but then again, Ii am happy to have done so.

~ Ryan Chan

Don’t expect this to be extremely easy to pass. While the lessons are fun and provide a good amount of exercise, you do need to put in some effort to learn about the do’s and don’ts about lifesaving and should have at least passed the SwimSafer gold course with flying colours. The coaches do a good job at teaching us all these and even share some of their own experiences with us.  Overall the lessons are entertaining and provide a good workout.

~ Tan Yizheng

Throughout the whole training, the tough and informative training style ignite my passion for lifesaving to greater heights. I will continue to attend your course to learn more on lifesavings and share it with my love ones. I always learn from my mistake at your lesson. Thank you Patrick.
